Billie Gastic Rosado
Billie Gastic Rosado is Provost and Senior VP of Academic Affairs at LaGuardia Community College in New York City. She came to that role from NYU’s School of Professional Studies, where she was associate dean, after a series of other positions in education and the nonprofit sector. Dr. Gastic Rosado has led or contributed to several research projects, including serving as a principal investigator on a Safe Schools/Healthy Students Initiative, funded by the U.S. Departments of Health and Human Services, Justice, and Education. She has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed publications and given presentations at professional associations and has served as co-editor of The Education of the Hispanic Population: Selected Essays. In 2019 she was named one of 25 Aspiring Leaders by the Penn Center for Minority-Serving Institutions. Her volunteer leadership roles have included membership on the boards of Connecticut CASA (prior to 2022) and of the Domestic Violence Crisis Center. She earned a Ph.D. in the Sociology of Education and M.A. in Sociology from Stanford, an Ed.M. from Harvard, and a B.A. in Economics from Yale.
