Who We Are

"CASA" Stands for Court Appointed Special Advocate

CASA volunteers are screened, comprehensively trained, and supervised by CASA program staff to provide consistent, caring support for abused and neglected children throughout a child's time in Connecticut's child protection system.

CASA volunteers:

  • Develop relationships with their case children and routinely assess their well being
  • Check in with teachers, care providers, and service providers
  • Recommend necessary services for their case children
  • Submit periodic reports to the Court with recommendations on what’s in the child’s best-interests.
